«Hunderttausend jaulende Höllenhunde,

die MONOFONES sind wieder da!»,

würde Captain Haddock sagen. Und wie sie es sind! 14 Jahre und rund 200 Konzerte quer durch Europa hat das Höllentrio schon auf dem Bandbuckel und ist dabei keinen Deut leiser geworden. Auch nicht besser. Zum Glück nicht! Denn es ist genau diese Mischung aus Drei-Akkord-Garagerock der 60er-Jahre, Punk-Attitüde und Lo-Fi-Kitsch-Refrains, die den Charme von THE MONOFONES ausmacht.


Das zeigt auch die sechste Platte «Loud & Lousy», die 13 wilde und doch eingängige Tanznummern sowie zwei Kuschelrockhits (naja) vereint. Zur Freude von Captain Haddock kommt sogar ein heulender Hund vor.
